"'The Caretaker' is what inspired Ashley to get into music making and sampling as a whole. At the time she created a Caretaker inspired project by the name of 'TakeCare'. She didn't really know what she was doing, but through trial and error and lots experimenting she started perfecting her skills. After a few years she finally felt ready to make the one album she was trying to make since the beginning, with plans of releasing it on May 1st, 2025. Not so long after and with around a quarter of her album done, she discovered Vaporwave; she fell in love with the genre and shifted her focus to making Vaporwave music under her new (and definitive) name, 'Affect'.

May 1st, 2025, marks the 4th anniversary since the beginning of TakeCare and the release date of Ashley's unfinished album, 'MAOABM'. I, Nekkit, chose this day as the perfect opportunity to share a part of TakeCare's legacy by creating this compilation, including various outtakes and my own reimaginations of Ashley's long forgotten songs.
