Ripwave by Quinoa Phoenix [CALIFORNIA]
San Francisco artist Nori Tropa, also known as Quinoa Phoenix, is a self-proclaimed sound sculptor. She veers away from too much concrete direction or classification, making works that combine acoustic and electronic sounds and instruments.
Nori tells us:
"My pieces of music come to me in a sort of act of universe-therapy; I usually just start with a sound that I enjoy for whatever reason, and stretch it and dissect it and add it to itself and throw it against five other things and staple it to a couch and sell it on the corner and put it all in the washing machine with some bleach and run it through a ceiling fan and reverse it and that usually works for me."
