Regress by An Ancient Legend, Long Forgotten
This album is in a marginally different style of music than what I normally make. For this album, I decided to take a somewhat stripped down approach to the instrumentation, and focus on more of a traditional "rock" sound than "metal". Instead of increasing complexity and variety like my last two "Atmospheres" volumes, I went towards simplicity and cohesion.
I created "Regress" with an idea of a post-apocalyptic world as a guide. The album begins with an orchestral/electronic hybrid metal track, symbolizing an advanced civilization on the verge of collapse, and moves into a more traditional hard rock sound, symbolizing abrupt regression into a primitive world. The album ends with a track utilizing only acoustic instruments to symbolize a return to nature.
I hope you enjoy my latest release. Thank you for your support in what I do. The companion album to this will be called "Progress", and will release Nov. 4th. It is similar in style, but with more synths and orchestral instrumentation, giving it more of an epic and spacey feel.
