"Alalie is a ten track album of improvised music played on the hardenger fiddle and recorded at Cosmo: an apse in Giudecca in Venice with very lively acoustics. The work dwells on the sensation of alalie: the feeling of loss of words, thoughts and memories leading to an inability to interact with a certain environment. The album is an exploration of the feeling of alalie with my Sicilian and Norwegian home countries and playing with this sense of detachment. The music takes inspiration from the popular songs of those lands, without pretending to make them mine. The songs interact, like the smell of snow and figs melt together in one undefinable scent."
