20 Remixes by AkA

AkA 20 Remixes is the first collection of AkA remixes for 11 artists, all very talented and original in their own way. The remixes were graciously performed from 2013 to 2017 , and cover a wide variety of music genres, from spaghetti rock to techno pop. The track are listed by year chronological order.

Although AkA is not a remixing project per se, he found in this way of working a similar approach to her way of working, i.e. use existing audio material, de-construct it, identify sound evolutions and snippets to build on.

And so, each remix was embraced with that same re-constructive idea. The original artists were brave and generous enough to let AkA have his own interpretation and evolution on their track. AkA cannot be thankful enough for that.

Now that the remixes are out, we can admit it : AkA never really listened a lot to the orignal tracks before starting the work. Again, to start from fresh ground and to keep exploring new sonic spaces.
