Dystopian Nomads by Alan Hajduk

Dear Bandcamp audience, in front of you is the new album of the authentic Zenica sound, called dark zenica electro. The album is titled "Dystopian Nomads." In today's era of climate change, we find ourselves in a situation where it seems we are slowly entering a cyberpunk dystopia, where people are forced to become nomads around the world because their locations have become intolerable for life due to extreme weather conditions. Unfortunately, due to climate change, we are witnessing extreme storms that are affecting some areas to the extent that there are a significant number of human casualties, as seen in Libya, where over five thousand people lost their lives. This is why we refer to these people as immigrants, although I prefer to use the term nomads because it somehow sounds more humane to me.

Now, these are dystopian nomads fleeing from extreme weather conditions such as storms, droughts, and heatwaves, at a time when we have technological advancements that we will need to use to survive such extreme weather conditions – that's your cyberpunk dystopia. In the past, when I released albums inspired by this sci-fi culture, I often mentioned that in cyberpunk dystopia, there was always some global catastrophe, like a nuclear war as in Judge Dredd or climate-related disasters as in Blade Runner. Due to our survival instincts, I highly doubt we will reach a situation like Judge Dredd, but I am certain we will face some consequences due to climate change. Admittedly, they will be gradual but not as slow as one might think.


I remember about ten years ago, or perhaps a few more, we had a cool summer where I recall wearing thick jeans, a thicker shirt, and a leather jacket, but I had sandals on my feet. Back then, I found it strange and thought of it as some anomaly reminiscent of that old folk song, "Snow Fell on the Blossoms." ( bosnian music genre very similar to Portugal fado ) However, now I have to admit that I was mistaken; it wasn't an anomaly but rather a warning or a symptom of what we are witnessing today in the form of supercell storms that hit us this summer. Fortunately for Zenica, my hometown, they showed their strength only briefly, but in other areas like Vojvodina area in Serbia, they displayed their full force. So, we will have to rely on technology to help us mitigate the consequences of such climate changes, which obviously intend to become a "normal" occurrence – once again, this is a cyberpunk dystopia.

Coastal cities will have to find ways to protect themselves from sea storms and rising sea levels. Inland cities will need to find solutions for floods, droughts, and other calamities, and all of this can be provided by technology because we evidently won't stop using fossil fuels to the extent needed to prevent this. So, people, start getting used to the cyberpunk dystopia because we are already living in it.

As for the album, like before, it consists of 16 tracks and costs 7 euros, with individual tracks priced at two euros each. It's excellent to listen to while witnessing any of these extreme climate changes.
