The Sojourn by alexsmind
This is an album idea I had trying to record music with what I have. I have a lot of stuff so it did not end up as lo-fi as I thought it would, but it definitely is one of the roughest things I have made. I consider it very self-indulgent, with a lot of experimentation, natural recordings and one-takes. Maybe there is something here you will like.
There is a mix of ambient/drone, noise, field recording, acoustic/folk, a little funk in one of the songs.
I did this entirely while on a trip in Brantley County Georgia for a country stay at a farm for a few days in a cabin. I finished this album in basically one and a half days. The stay was fantastic and if anything, finishing the album felt fantastic even if what was captured was very rough (I wanted to redo some of the material when I got back home, but that would be disingenuous to what I captured on my trip, which was entirely done in GA). This is like a snapshot in time of great moments in this span of time, a musical journal for me.
Bit of trivia, Lost in this World is a song I wrote back in 2012 when I started writing music with my brother for games and wanting to do something kind of renaissance/folk like. The one I did back in 2012 ironically sounds much better than this one (you can hear it on TheTwinsCompositions portfolio link below)!
