Turnaround by A.Liv

Turnaround was released in October 2021, as the first public release by A.Liv after an initial period of only working towards a small patreon community.

8 tracks were chosen from among the many that were accumulated over the two years prior. As a result, the album contains a wide variety of material. Both instrumental and vocal tracks are present, some are based on tape-loop-experiments edited into foundations for finished songs, others use more conventional modern production techniques. During the period in question, the artist began to explore alternatives to the common 12-equal tuning, the beginnings of this exploration is heard here and there on the record.

One new song rounded out the 9-track release, the opener, a collaboration with U.S. guzheng player Jarrelle Barton.

As always, A.Liv is all about harmonizing mind, soul and body, the music is all made to stimulate these parts of us somewhat equally. A theme of hope and acceptance is present throughout the album, sometimes overtly, and sometimes in more subtle or indirect ways.
