Broken Fantasia by Andrés Steiner
Broken Fantasia, is an album which encompasses six pieces composed and recorded by Andrés Steiner, between: twenty, twenty-two, through the first six months of twenty, twenty-three. The six pieces were released one by one on Bandcamp. It was later decided by the musician to release said pieces concurrently beside new artwork.
This album is music informed primarily by acoustic guitar. Playing said instrument to its fullest potential. In that regard, the guitar was used not only in its conventional manner, but additionally as percussion. The piano is not of acoustic source as it was on the musician's earlier entry in his repertoire. Field recordings and digital processing are present, but not the focal point of Broken Fantasia. Yet again, Andrés Steiner manages to surprise in his thought process of what: modern ambient music is, the freedom of “thinking outside the box” and seeking equilibrium in sonic chaos.
