Offworld communication: Petrilda Pseudohands writes to her old friend Nethanolio Rosehip-Dunhilde, letting him know that she will be moving to the Megacity. Description of their homeworld Rhinos-7 arises from the verdant landscape that surrounds her.
Memories of a green planet: Nethanolio Rosehip-Dunhilde responds, overcome with memories of Rhinos-7 and their adventures together. The letter breaks off as emotions rise to the surface.
Brizkolian diplomacy: The old friends attempt to reunite as Petrilda Pseudohands arrives in the Megacity. Unfortunately, missed connections ensue.
Buckminster transmitting from Planet Earth: Petrilda watches a video clip of the earthling Buckminster Fuller as she settles into her new job in the city. Distortions on the communication networks become apparent.
The tale is continued in Act 2: Communication Synthetic.
