We spent three weeks in a basement in Portland, OR making this album. The leaves were turning and the wind was gentle. I was grieving a loss and would walk uphill to Mt. Tabor Park to quiet my thoughts. One day, I wrote two songs for the album at the coffee shop down the street. Every Sunday, I ate tamales at the nearby farmers' market. We drank a lot of coffee and stayed up pretty late, breaking a noise curfew several times. We squeezed in some board games and Nintendo when we were stressed, and we were usually stressed. But, we had some good friends and amazing musicians come through who gave the songs their all. Now it's yours.
