I need darkness to thrive

Over and over I could be persuaded but I keep coming back to
Solace and sadness, I just can't forsake it, it's alright
To leave me behind

Before me, hours of new sights and sounds
They would call it fear or missing out
But I'm fine here, a remnant
Late night musings give such delight
The whole world sleeps while my spirit ignites
You walk on by

Don't you think by now
I would save myself somehow
But the moon still bleeds, still smiles
Like a lovelorn, lonesome child
