What is Amapiano? Its a Zulu word, and it is translated to mean “The Pianos”. This is because most of its instrumentals are majorly created on a Piano. As a result, it features high-pitched Piano melodies, among others.
Amapiano is a style of house music that emerged in South Africa in 2012. It is a hybrid of deep house, jazz and lounge music characterized by synths, airy pads and wide percussive basslines
It is distinguished by low-pitched piano melodies, Kwaito basslines, low tempo 90s South African house rhythms and percussions from another local subgenre of house known as Bacardi.
