Slivers & Splinters from Naked Truth by Autumn Dawn Leader
Featuring the otherworldly talent that is Chris Conway on backing vocals and his magic on theremin, a song that began its existence as a 'throw away' piece has become something special. I wrote this song for one of the 2024 FAWM (February Album Writing Month) challenges. During FAWM, nightly challenges are set where you're give a theme and just one hour to write a song based from the 'prompt' given. That night, the prompt was 'broken glass' - I took it, and ran with it, weaving in what I write about best: broken hearts and shattered dreams. When it came to recording the song, Adam at Deadline did what he does best and took the vision I gave him and worked a musical magic that makes this now sound like a classic, mixing in what Chris did vocally and with the theremin, making this one of the stand out tracks of the whole album.
