Eden by AWAL
'Eden' is a Dungeon-Synth-inspired project done using Sonic Pi.
The album revolves around the ancient Dilmun civilization which were located primarily in modern-day Bahrain, an island within the coast of East Arabia and West of Persia.
Since the dawn of civilization, Dilmun was a center of trading, specializing in pearls.
Throughout history, Dilmun was the subject of Mesopotamian, Persian, Greek and Arab rule. It's Hellenic names were Tylos and Arados. And one of it's attributed local names, Awal, is named after chief-god of the ancient Dilmunians.
In ancient times. Dilmun was a lush and green place, with some archeologists suggesting it to be the possible location of (or the inspiration behind) the Garden of Eden. Today, the island is a host to flamingos, herons, oryxes and the dugongs.
Eden is an album dedicated to giving ancient ancient West Asia as well as Bronze-Age West Asia The "Medieval Fantasy" treatment that was dedicated primarily to European and fictional Europe-inspired settings.
