Chestnut and clay, cotton and sage
prisms of color dancing in water
rose on skin, aloe and gin
notes of a harp by the fire in winter
toes in the soil, blueberry mead
watching a garden grow from a seed
dip in a river, dip in a dream

Rosemary dried in a bundle beside
all the jars packed with spices, and baskets of peaches
Oh life! You are brimming with dragonflies perching
on woolen hats shading these eyes ever searching
Oh find here before you the diamonds of moments
the piles of wishes and dandelion choices
Oh dance, they are beckoning your eyes to see
chance, take a chance and awake to this dream
loosen your hair, let yourself free

when the storm comes, when I’m feeling wide as an ocean unfolding
