when you were a preacher you were doing it to survive. you had too much to share and too little to receive. and when you were a preacher you were trying not to dive into the overwhelming pool of seeing.

if I was there I could have been unhelpful. if I was there I could have been unkempt. but what lasts long is the livelaughloving, the bitterness recedes into a dull throb that you had on your mind all times when you were a preacher.

when you were a preacher you would tell me what to do. you'd tell me what to think and what to feel too. but now I am a preacher and I've got nothing inside. better find a rotting corpse to feed on.
