It all started from a murmur
And faded in a picture

Without Ulysses and fiddles
Waves crashing on the Moher
The bird you breathed out floating upon
This land of mirror sinking in the ocean
Of the purest black water
The black’s a new kind of snow

You froze the townland on fire
Letting blackish green seal reds
Then you put a spell on the sleepers
That used to run like rats

You brought springs at wartime
Brought my blood flowing all night
Rosemary, gentian and thyme
All alone you were roaming
In the lost field of mine
Got nothing to lose
But this cold spring I was to find
My orbit’s made ice-blue
