Blueprints by Barney McAll

When i first came to New York in 1992 I made a pact with myself to
always document my playing and composing through recording- by hook or by crook. New York takes a lot from you and so
I wanted to get some back and also be able to see where I was at musically: to capture that as a sort of musical journal.
I never had any intention of actually releasing these sketches, they were really blueprints, (apart from "Shephards Hook"
which was supposed to be part of my album"Flashbacks").
But after all these years i decided it might be interesting to hear some of my process and so,
here are some new pieces never before heard - 'stepping stones' to my progress as a player and composer.
Apologies for the fact that I cannot recollect what year they were recorded.

Pianist, keyboardist, composer and arranger, Barney McAll moved to NYC in 1997 after being invited to join The Gary Bartz Quartet. He leads numerous ensembles including; Sylent Running, Triplum and MODAS (Mother Of Dreams And Secrets) and has also written scores for a multitude of award winning films including:

- Motherland Afghanistan
