Bristol-based outfit Battery Point are thrilled to unveil their debut EP, Lucky Once, to be released on 5th April. Entirely self-recorded and produced, the EP was recorded with a restless energy throughout January and February, with some tracks captured almost immediately after writing, bringing an impression of immediacy and rawness to the project.
Collaborating with Bristol’s thriving creative community, Battery Point enlisted photographer Jake Gill to craft the EP’s striking visual aesthetic, resulting in fractured, evocative artwork that mirrors the EP’s themes. Adding another dimension to their evolving sound, saxophonist Arron Francis contributes haunting, expressive melodies to two tracks
Vocalist Ewan Clay reflects on the creative process: "There’s a sense of desperation and restless longing that pervades each of the four tracks on this EP. Lucky Once—at least to me—embodies a gambler chasing loss after loss in a futile attempt to recapture the taste of some faded glory. Each track explores this yearning through a different lens."
