Lyrics
The sun has risen from its sleep
Its face illuminates pagodas in the east.
Oh such language makes me yawn
There's no meaning if it's beauty nothing more.
And if a vacancy resounds
The kids are quiet when they're moving underground.
So I will say what must be said
The art's not over it's machinery that's dead.
I have seen the people in the street below
I have seen the ashes and the afterglow
I have felt the movement of a steady flow
Going with the current not the undertow.
Since I've discarded childish things
Nothing comes close to the joy they used to bring
So I bathe in cathode rays
And I'm assaulted by the vacuum of our age.
The sun will soon return to rest
And there will only be a shadow in the west
Before that dream decays
I wanna look back and see the cresting of a wave.
I have seen the people in the street below
I have seen the ashes and the afterglow
I have felt the movement of a steady flow
Going with the current not the undertow.
