Completed in 2014 yet unreleased until now, Blue Sky is the third release from Philadelphia rock band Beretta76.
Continuing in the tradition of stripped-down-song-oriented rock and roll found on the band’s previous LP Black Beauty (2006), this 6-song EP contains classic rope-a-dope rock and roll punches (“Tire Fire,” “Animal”), expands the band’s sound with a slow burner (“Never Wanted”), and keeps the power pop torch lit (“Blue Sky,” “You’re Young”).
Beretta76 was founded in 2003 by Camille Escobedo, Pete Rydberg and Rob Giglio (Creem Circus). They have shared stages with bands such as The Muffs, Visqueen, Shonen Knife and The Fleshtones, and were performers at the 2007 WXPN XPoNential Music Festival. Their music has been compared to The Runaways, Cheap Trick, Ramones and Suzi Quatro.
