Castor & Pollux by Bing Satellites
Once again, we explore deepest space.
One continuous 81 minutes piece of peaceful, drifting, atmospheric ambient music.
The music is inspired by the night sky, which I spend a great deal of time photographing. This album attempts to capture that feeling. Under the night sky, we are caught in the vastness of space with objects so far away is is difficult to comprehend.
Recently, I set up my telescope to photograph various objects in the sky, including Andromeda, Bode's Galaxy and the Cigar Galaxy. I spent hours underneath the stars while occasional meteors would shoot past (during the Perseid meteor shower). It is a peaceful and mesmerising experience.
The music is made up of several developing layers that drift and melt over time, utilising various generative techniques, granular synthesis, field recordings and anything I can make a sound with.
This is the first in a series of album created in this distinct way. There will be more longforn deep space ambient music soon.
