Flunk by Actual

The rattle of a subwoofer catches your ear before anything else. The pavement ahead steams as the source of the bombastic funk reveals itself. With the windows rolled down, the sizzling baile rhythm permeates the block, luring everyone in its radius towards this sonic force. It's as if a spell has been cast, calling a horde of dancers and revelers to action. Actually, it's Actual. We have activated the next Black Magic ritual with one word: "Flunk."

We are gassed up to have Actual on team Black Magic this month and this latest single, entitled "Flunk," is a monster mutation of baile funk, broken beat, and UK techno that hits hard and with surgical precision. The syncopated drums are both punchy and swaying, providing a framework for the hypnotic vocal sample and the clever synthesizer and sample work. Actual allows space for the elevation of any moment and it will be evident on dancefloors worldwide that this has the power to move people.
