Gore is the new album from B.Michaael, a Vancouver-based producer and composer. A synaptic new age pastiche of verdant synthesis and shimmering environmental music, these are highly activated compositions that smear liminality into a leafy synthetic pulp. Channeling a gooey sensibility, the album drapes soporific pads and warm wave shapes with an uncanny visage of samples, sound design spirals, and pollinated textural details. This is organic music; it is suggestive and sumptuous, playful and lusciously enveloping. B.Michaael excels in utilizing an archaic syntax of electronic new age music and refracting it through a contemporary sound collage sensibility to create a rippling and emotive collection of compositions.
