I could have been a
gambling man,
If I had found the right cards to play,
To make the wheel spin another day,
It could have been that Easy.
Might have been a diplomat,
Putting forth propositions with tact
If not for the poise I lacked
To make them
think they need me.
Just to think what might have been,
Another fixture on the scene,
An empty

headed philistine,
If only it had been easy.
Could have been a real bad man,
A calculating evil doer,
A night

stalking saboteur,
No one would even see me.
Had
I been a rhapsodist,
I might have put the right words to a score,
To pass on tales of love and war,
Had I thought you’d all believe me.
Just to think what might have been,
Another cog in the machine,
But a no

one with a dream,
If only it had been easy.
