Woodshedding by Peril Ravine
This album was written while I was living on Galiano Island in Brittish Columbia (Canada) during the period of 2006 - 2008.
It was recorded in the winter of 2009-2010. I had very ambitious dreams of what it would be, and in the spring of 2010 I was not satisfied with the project as it stood and I decided I would shelf it and finish it the next winter.
While hitchhiking through Montreal that summer my laptop was stolen and I lost all of the project files for everything I had done. The only tracks I had left are ones that I had uploaded onto music websites or I emailed to other people.
In 2018, when I realized that this album had never been released, I re-listened to the remaining tracks. Now that I’m not so close to it, I think that it perfectly expresses not only what I wanted to convey but also the ambiance of the beautiful environment in which it was created.
There are some people that appear on these recordings: Allyson Vollmer, Steve Gordanier, Rick Pamburn. There maybe more that I have forgotten.
The recording was all done at The Pussy Palace II. Thanks Lisa, Jen, Becky, and Al for letting me make my noise. 😃
