Evolve by Caleb Klinzing

The Evolution of Music Sonata was created to bridge the gap between Classical music and today’s popular music. A sonata is a classical style of music consisting of three movements. These movements are known in today’s music as a verse, chorus and bridge. In this piece, there is also a prelude, an introductory piece of music. The prelude gives insight into what is coming in the future of the piece. The first movement is in the classical/romantic style. The second movement is what bridges the classical era to today's popular music by being classical at its roots but having a modern pop sound where everything is perfectly timed out to make it uniform. The third movement goes back to the Classical/Romantic style and concluding with a crescendo up into a big finale. Its Leos Janacek’s Sonata 1905, From The Street, was the main musical inspiration for my sonata, my piece uses the conventions and in the third movement it uses one main themes from the second movement of sonata 1905.

Caleb Klinzing is a 16 year old composer, musician and sophomore at IDEAS Academy in Sheboygan, WI. Music has always been a large part of his life. He started playing the piano at a young age and is for the most part, self taught. He plays the piano, as well as the pipe organ and violin. He also sings in three languages.
