CB/DB by Chelsea Berry and David Brown

David Brown was a longtime friend and a world-class guitar player. I was very lucky to have been able to play with him. His passing in 2024 was a huge loss for the music community and for all who knew him as a friend.

This EP is a project that Warren Babson and I worked on together to release in Dave's honor. We revisited three of my original songs that were recorded 15 years ago with Tony Goddess at Bang-A-Song Studios in Gloucester, MA. At the time, Dave and I laughingly referred to the tracks as "Chelsea Berry and the David Brown Orchestra", owing to the fact that I insisted he keep adding layers and layers of guitar. Sometimes there's no such thing as too much.

For this new version of the songs, we erased my old vocals from 2010 and rerecorded them, knowing that the years that had passed between takes would add depth and meaning to the lyrics.

It is my sincere hope that this music brings warmth, joy, and comfort to anyone who hears it, and that it evokes happy memories for those who knew and loved Dave.
