Cibelle (pronounced "See-bell-ee") first came to attention as the main vocalist on the late Suba's cult São Paulo Confessions album. Her self-titled debut album came out in 2003, and immediately established her as one of the most imaginative and original young artists to come out of Brazil. Still partly rooted in bossa nova, electronic downtempo, samba soul & tropicalia, this album already strongly points to the directions she's developed in her second album (more folk, more microbeats, even more sonic inventivity...).

Cibelle's self-titled debut album came out in 2003, & immediately established her as one of the most imaginative young artist to come out of Brazil. She went on to record and release three albums and three EPs, full of captivating textural soundscapes and exciting collabs with Mike Lindsay (Tunng), Seu Jorge, Devendra Banhart, Mocky etc. She currently concentrates on her work as a visual artist.
