Cereal Sounds by NISSAN: Unstoppable

Cereal Sounds is the final release for 2020 from the amorphous NISSAN: Unstoppable. Originally a short story, Cereal Sounds is a series of genre-fusing musical vignettes which describe a non-linear adventure, taking place in Maniac City. It is also the retro-active coalescense of characters, themes and ideas explored within two previous N:U releases - "Welcome to the Glove Department" and "Yikel, Michael & Yikes Woz Here".

Maniac City is difficult to locate, generally stumbled upon by it's discoverers. It is as tricky to leave as it is to tell the time; the sun has never risen, though most agree it is perpetually 1994 in Maniac City. The citizens are invariably destitute and accustomed to that style of life. They suffer from a kind of amnesiac malaise known as "The Heat", causing them to scream for hours on end and sporadically change colour. They subsist on a diet purely of "Bangerz and Mash" - a somewhat conscious protein and starch meal, purchasable at "The Tuck Shop", down Bastard Alley, the queue moves very slowly and its been Bring Your Nephew to Work Day far back as anyone can recall.

The meal brings about a frantic euphoria in it's consumer - causes rash and can be over-dosed on. Symptoms may include purple frothing at the mouth and what Dr. Morsecode calls "Lazy Lungs". Deli tickets are used as currency, crows find them and give them to garden gnomes. During the city's 5th season the rain pelts constant and horizontal. Elm Street is not for tourists, however there is the Theatre of Osmosis, where rubber-gloved, eager patrons' collective ideals of entertainment are projected back at them from the stage. And if you get tired of all that there's Eraser's Edge.
