Experiments by Five Pence Game

‘Experiments’ deviates from Five Pence Game’s usual collaborative format, with a set of songs that stemmed from samples taken from iconic films such as The Dark Crystal and The Wicker Man, instruments such as the belafon and the sitar, and yoga mantras. It is primarily instrumental with manipulated voice samples, in which the words sound like an invented otherworldly language.

Thematically, the tracks are loosely based on the seven main stages of spiritual alchemy, which is concerned with the desire for inner transformation and discovering oneself through seeking the truth of the soul, cosmos and nature.

‘Experiments’ se desvía del formato colaborativo habitual de Five Pence Game, con un conjunto de canciones que provienen de muestras tomadas de películas icónicas como Cristal Oscuro y El Hombre De Mimbre, instrumentos como el belafon y el sitar, y mantras de yoga. Es fundamentalmente instrumental con samples de voz manipulados, en las que las palabras suenan como un lenguaje inventado de otro mundo.

Temáticamente, las pistas se basan libremente en las siete etapas principales de la alquimia espiritual, que se ocupa del deseo de transformación interior y de descubrirse a uno mismo a través de la búsqueda de la verdad del alma, el cosmos y la naturaleza.
