House of Extreme Darkness is pleased to announce the release of the album CXI111 by CLIFF AND IVY (Alaska's goth duo). Cliff and Ivy are - Cliffmonk Livingston, guitar, bass, songwriting, arrangement and Ivy Silence - lead vocals, synth, piano, songwriting, arrangement and lyrics.
Cliff and Ivy are Alaska's most original act. All lyrical content is composed by Ivy Silence through a sensory process called Synesthesia, a condition which causes blending of the senses. She uses a dictionary to “touch” the colors of words and puts the words in order of discovery to form lyrics and stories. They present a stage show with horror props and experimental storytelling with music.
This is Cliff and Ivy's second full length release. It includes thirteen new tracks- gothic and dark post-punk tunes which will reach out and touch your heart and soul. This release is different than any other music coming from Alaska. It is inspired by darkness and beauty and it will inspire you with diverse tracks such as experimental spoken word, gothic rock, hardcore punk, and a 20 min epic dark psychedelic track reminiscent of Pink Floyd and The Doors. CXI111 is available at www.cliffandivy.bandcamp.com, on iTunes, Spotify and all other usual online digital stores. Physical CDs and related merchandise is available on Bandcamp.
Cliff and Ivy have collaborated with notable musicians from the Los Angeles and Palm Desert CA gothic and deathrock scene on six tracks. CXI111 was recorded in Alaska at House of Extreme Darkness Studio, in Los Angeles CA at Kitten Robot Studio, and at Appropriate Music Studio in Anaheim CA and in New Jersey at Neanderthal Studio.
