Alignments by Prms

It's quite easy to remember the future. Although all that remains are indistinct shadows and vague contours, it has not been forgotten. It was to be warm and unhindered and it was to be sparked by an unassuming gesture of blind faith. At least that's how it was perceived. And it always somehow seemed even more palpable than the present. There were warning signs, you know. But they were subtle enough to be easily ignored. We knew that something had gone awry, that time itself had been skewed . But no one was able to nail it down, because no one ever tried to nail it down. The future was so near and we had been looking towards it for so long that when it finally arrived, no one noticed. It folded and dissolved into a memory of itself. As it had probably done numerous times before. No grand gestures, no revelations, just a slow washout. And then, a slow rebuild of the assumption. A realignment of hope. A newly coiled warmth. It's quite easy to remember the future.
