Soil by Terre Thaemlitz
This album was first released through Instinct Records, the owners of which were opposed to my inclusion of any overtly political or sexual texts that might upset their US and European listeners - whom they envisioned to be a-political, spiritual butterflies of an extremely delicate nature. As a result, I had to sneak my queered interests into the design via pink triangles and a photo of a discarded condom in the CD insert (included as a bonus image). The condom photo was actually staged in a woodland diorama that I built in my living room. I will let you wonder if the semen was real or fake.
