I wrote the lyrics for this song at university while reminiscing about my days in Woolwich—getting inebriated with friends and running around the park at night.
The chords actually came to me mid-game of Hearthstone, a game I was playing way too much at university when I probably should have been working. Between turns, I’d often mess around on whichever guitar was within reach, and this progression stuck.
While recording, we realized the song needed a little more texture—it was originally just a basic guitar and bass setup. We ended up adding the same theremin we used on The Rats to give it an extra spooky vibe.
