Violet Cultivars by Coppice Halifax

In 2016, during the mastering and preparation for the release of an Orson Throb album at my Recycled Plastics imprint, Matias (the man behind the Orson Throb project) produced an entire album of remixes for my sprawling Verdant Compost project. His mixes were lush and deep, and I felt indebted to him for his work, so I decided to return the favor by remixing his entire RP album. These tracks were among the last recordings I made at the Botany Bay studio, in South Carolina.

After years of work, his excellent Veditabba album has finally been released (https://recycledplastics.bandcamp.com/album/veditabba ), and along with it a very limited quantity of my Violet Cultivars remix album. These copies came and went, and with Matias' blessing I am now issuing Violet Cultivars here for a wider release. Musically, these pieces resemble both Orson Throb's originals, and a more Halifaxian side of textured processing and atmosphere. Much of the original music has been mutated and composted in ways that have become a sort of signature for CH, all while using only the source material to construct these recordings.

A swirling, psychedelic dub techno excursion, deep and long, and perfect for scenic drives, slumbering nights and all the intimate moments in between.
