screaming a.m. alarms cast bitter dizzy spells, bring in each new day with the same familiar headache when morning light arrives too early and the winter sun departs too late, how it only snows grey cold in-between. i reach for hope in these empty bottles of gold, you draw open the blinds and raise your glass to watch grey skies, strangle the life out of, choking the life from...all in all it was almost worth it, sticking around for one more day just to see the dead in everyone's eyes. i can say with the least conviction no amount of time will heal and i'm begging to hear your breath again. we'll spill our hearts across dusty hardwood floors, with your head on my shoulder, under static forts...when winter ends.
