Shadows from Clockwork Minds by Cryptic Jim
Shadows marked the beginning of Cryptic Jim. It was written by Seb in 2012 prior to the formation of the band, and along with 'This One's For You, Carmen', Shadows was one of the band's originals.
It is a protest which takes aim at the capitalist greed of those who are in a position to help the desperate, but who choose to ignore their morals and leave others to fend for themselves. This notion is epitomised in the lyric, "Why are the shadows standing still, when there are children seeking shade?".
