Fundamentals by C.Scott

Fundamentals is a collection of beats composed on the venerable Roland SP404 sampler. Inspired by his upbringing and early experiences with the machine a decade ago as an aspiring beat-maker, the tape finds C.Scott flipping both familiar and obscure samples in his signature style. Much of this tape was formed from late night walks in Pittsburgh's Schenley Park, near the producer's childhood home. In fact, some of the beats were composed on location, as Scott decamped to sequestered park benches and pavilions to work on raw ideas. Fundamentals is an ideal accompaniment for long walks, blunt cruises, freestyle cyphers, and late night headphone listening alike.
