An indifferent cosmos is full of noise. Some beings impose their own mathematical filters on this, while others just tune in. Here we explore the materiality of our world and symbols from which we seek to understand it. Rumbles from the underworld: exciting, comforting or horrific? The metaphysics of nature is predation. Rays and waves: the death of loved ones sublimated. The early days of Earth given a serene title. But beyond the physical, the spiritual is always deferred. Are our lives but the unconscious constructs of the birth-trauma of the universe?
