Hello Columbus by David E. Williams
3-song EP released in 1999 (Ospedale) with the following press release: "It's 1492 all over again, as savage white noise collides with a delicate string quartet and Williams sings merrily of slaughter, Faustian hegemony and the drying socks of failed contemporary artists. As Deleuze said of Sacher-Masoch, Williams once again demonstrates 'a peculiar way of 'desexualizing' love while at the same time sexualizing the entire history of humanity.'"
In reality, this CD was an attempt to graft Williams' songwriting style onto the aggressive electronic, pseudo-industrial style of artists popular at the time (Marilyn, NIN, Rammstein). In essence, to become more popular by being less "pop."
Released on April 1, 1999, the day of the Columbine killings. We're not making this up; by "released" we mean: that's the day the boxes of CD's showed up.
