the story starts at the beginning
even though it is the end
standing on one side of something
seeking out my family and friends

stretching out to the horizon
for as far as one can see
to a point that's never ending
across the skies and across the seas

I keep feeling my feet they're moving
to a sort of a precipice
I look back over my shoulder
wondering where the future is

I am walking but I can't cross
I have won and I have lost
it's not the time for this to resolve

some they call it purgatory
some say it's a state of bliss
dangling in suspended animation
wondering where the future is

this mystery between life and death
I haven't yet taken my final breath
this conflict I cannot resolve...
