everything I thought I ever knew
changed on that day
I was lying on my back
without a word to say
quivering in agony in so much pain
I felt there was an explosion in my brain

the sights I hadn't seen
the things I didn't know
I had come so far
but I had so far to go

I was alone
I heard the sound of clanging metal in the distance
and the sounds of people screaming out
I had no idea - was I somewhere in a dream?
only then I found something in my sight unseen
I could not speak
no idea where I'd gone
the morning light arose
and I had carried on

and in the aftermath
all I could do is smile
let out a nervous laugh
gonna be here for a while
never will I be the same
that I know for sure
the doctors have opinions
but not a vaiid cure
it will all fall on me
to figure out where I've been
living life with open eyes
to find those sights...unseen
