DISANGRO by DISANGRO
I'm from Abruzzo, but I've been living in Bologna for years, where I have rediscovered my love for the atmospheres and instruments of the Eastern Mediterranean, thanks to the accidental discovery of an old bouzouki, which I got as a gift as a child from family friends in Thessaloniki, Greece.
DISANGRO project was born from the encounter between this and another childhood memory: a small collection of poems written in Abruzzo's dialect by poet Pierino Mammarella, my elementary school teacher. DISANGRO is my first, self-titled, album which, blending Mediterranean sounds and electronics with memories of my origins, translates some of these poems, affectionately granted by the poet's family, into music.
