Husbandry by Edirol Orchestra

'Husbandry' is somewhat darker and more lo-fi than Edirol Orchestra's previous outings yet overall, the album offers another batch of dreamy, hazy pop songs. The soft-sung, understated vocals and lush synthesizers are reminiscent of the Stone Roses' eponymous debut and their following maxi singles, while the twangy guitars invoke Dylan Carlson's doomy instrumental work with Earth. The album's moody atmosphere brings to mind Unwound's seminal swan song 'Leaves Turn Inside You' and the Velvet Underground's reverb-laden later productions.
