A sunny town hidden from the city smoke
I’m from the east side where stories flow

I met a man by the waters edge he had his head in his hands
“Hey what’s wrong?” is what I said
He said “My girlfriend’s got bad news she could be gone in a month or two”
“We work together at the local bar, she picks up glasses I kick out the drunks”

I see the waves come crashing down
All around this peaceful town
I see believers sticking to their dreams
And those who just believe that life is so obscene
I know we’re always told to bite our tongue
But this moment’s all I see
In the end its all that’s ever mattered to me
