Haunted Homecoming by Eldritch Alabama

Eldritch Alabama's debut release, Haunted Homecoming, is a collection of southern gothic soundscapes and dark ambience.

The creation of Haunted Homecoming included a cacophony of sounds from a hand-built replica of the infamous Apprehension Engine. Called "the most terrifying musical instrument of all time" by Brian Eno, the Apprehension Engine was commissioned and used by film composer Mark Korven for The Witch and The Lighthouse scores. It is also found in the studio of Trent Reznor.

Haunted Homecoming features binaural field recordings from the Black Belt of Alabama where time moves a little slower, the stars are a little brighter, and ghost stories abound.

Mixed with Dolby Atmos' revolutionary spatial audio technology, Haunted Homecoming is an immersive sound experience optimized for listening with headphones.

Even H.P. Lovecraft was inspired by the State of Alabama. In his commonplace book (a listing of story ideas and concepts) entry 111, written in 1923, reads "Ancient ruin in Alabama swamp—voodoo.” Lovecraft also visited Alabama in June of 1932 as mentioned in a letter he wrote from New Orleans - “from here I shall go to ancient Mobile, Alabama”.
