Collaboratory by Eldritch Bass

Releasing this EP (while being a school assignment), is my way of breaking out of worrying about whether or not music is good enough to release. It’s a problem many people face and it often leads to music that could be amazing not ever seeing the light of day.

Coming from a metal background, I’ve always been in love with the energy it gives me and how versatile it can be. From Punk to Djent, From Symphonic to Deathcore. It almost feels like you can combine metal with anything so for this project, I wanted to do 3 things:

I wanted to experiment with different genres of music, while staying within my own taste.

I wanted to experiment with alternative ways of writing, such as using AI for inspiration or spitballing ideas.

I wanted to take the opportunity to learn from my fellow classmates who have different experiences by collaborating with them.


I love seeing how people are inspired by one another, and collaborating with others lets the music grow organically in a way that I couldn’t do on my own in a million years. Not because I necessarily need others to create music, but because the fusion of influences spark a unique kind of creativity.

Being self taught, I (like many others) fear that I won’t be good enough, but I’m taking the leap of faith and releasing my music in the hopes of inspiring others to think either: “If he was sacred, but did it anyway maybe I can too..” or “I can do better than this..”
