Welcome to the disco of doom! This duo offers up a near-danceable version of gloomy, noisy electronics while skilfully avoiding the genre-typical cliché pitfalls of sampled B movie dialogues and the like. Dark without being gothic, straight 4/4 beats without being techno, instead a great hybrid of multiple influences.
This album proves that the use of noise pioneered in experimental music has developed into a complete palette of sound textures that can be used to good effect in electronic club music. In this respect, this punchy album by Neighbours Hunters is a good example of the cross-fertilisation between seemingly unrelated types of music that attenuation circuit seeks to encourage.
